In childhood. At the age of 9, i think, i found an old cars almanac in which they featured the all new and revolutionary Porsche 959. I read that article at least ten times and, although i didn't understand not even 10% of what they were talking about, it was impossible not the understand that the unusual shaped car in front of my eyes is on top of all the other cars in the book.

After a while a local bad boy appeared in a brand new Porsche 944, something that was unseen in the area where i was living, something that developed inside of every boy that saw the car, the dream of owning a Porsche some day. For most of us this remained a childhood dream, long forgotten, but not for me.., no sir! I started to learn about them, i learned what technologies they hide, what dangerous character they have, what stubborn engineers build them, what they have to offer.. So, the dream lived on until this very moment and, unfortunately is still a dream...
I had the money for a Porsche 944, but because of the fear that you need tons of money to maintain it (which is not completely true), i bought a Seat Leon Cupra TDI (150bhp). That's a big disappointment, isn't it, coming from a guy that has just started a blog for Porsche fans.

I don't say i made a bad choice, its a good car, reliable, fast in a straight line (compared to other hatches and regular cars), tons of torque (320 Nm) extremely economical, BUT is not thrilling in any manner, is not a car to put on posters, i don't love it, is just a device to fulfill my movement needs. Tomorrow i'm selling it! Seriously i'm selling it :-D.

Back to the Porsche talk... What i was saying was that, it is impossible not to fall in love with these cars once you know them, once you learn about them. Its hard to like them from the start (not my case :) ) because of their old fashioned frog-like design, is hard to understand what statement makes that design, what purpose does it have, but once you know them...

I'll let you watch a movie that, maybe, would have made a big difference when i decided to buy the Leon, a movie that shows why practicality must be sent to fuck herself from time to time :D

Its been a while since i've first thought of starting something like this, a Porsche Fan Club Blog, but i always had something on my head and didn't had the time for doing it. Now, its done :)

I'll be posting here impressions, thoughts, news, everything that crosses my mind about Porsches and not only. I've also created an Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/PorscheFanClub)dedicated to this, where i'll be doing quite the same thing, posting videos which feature Porsches, so you can find everything about the car you love in one place.

In the next post i'll tell you how i got into this Porsche love and what are the things that puts Porsche in front of the other car makers.
